Saddle stools have been around for quite some time. They are widely used in workplaces where people need to move around with ease while they workplaces like hairdressing salons and clinics. Now, there’s a trend for saddle stools in offices.
Why do we call it a "saddle?" Because when you sit on it, it seems like you are riding a horse. The sitting height is also 20-30cm higher than it would be on a conventional office chair. But why should you get on saddle chairs? What are the benefits exactly?
• Well, when you sit on a saddle chair, the angle between your knees and hips open up to 135°. An office chair will open your knee and hip angle to only 90°. This will allow your spine to remain in its natural curvature, and so you don’t slouch, and pain/tension is reduced in your shoulders, lumbar, and neck region.
• Your open hip angle allows you to lean forward in a more effective way than you would do if you were sitting on an office chair. And your posture is not affected by your leaning forward.
• Blood circulation to your legs is improved.
• With the saddle chair, your body can engage your abdominal and your back muscles to support itself, which enhances core muscle strength.
• Your legs have to do a lot more work to stabilise your entire frame. This lifts the pressure from your lumbar region while the strain on your vertebral discs is equally reduced. All these help to alleviate back pain.
• A saddle chair is propelled into position using one’s feet. So, this gives you a chance to exercise your legs.
• Our saddle chairs have a greater range of motion which prevents problems with the joints in your hips and knees.
• Saddle stools have adjustable heights. They also have a tilt-adjustable seat. So, what this means is that you can adjust the stool to whatever task you are doing to get your ideal sitting position.
• With a saddle stool, you can get closer to your workstation so you don’t have to stretch excessively or strain your muscles.
• Our saddle chairs come with a split seat, and so the pressure on your pelvic floor is lessened, and the temperature in your genitals reduced. This allows you to sit with ease on the chair for longer periods. There’s no healthier sitting position, for men mostly.
Never used a saddle stool? You can start with ours. We recommend that you start slowly. Switch out of your current chair for one or two hours at a time for a start. As your muscles become stronger, and your spine gets accustomed to the posture change, you’ll find it easier to use the chair for longer periods.
We have saddle chairs that you can use as saloon furniture equipment including:
• adjustable pedicure manicure stools
• barbershop chair with backrest beauty
• salon swivel seat stool
• hair cutting master stool
